Brendan, a UMass alumni, won a contest earlier this year to shoot his shot. At the second media timeout, he drained a shot from half court and won himself $25,000. I caught up with him about five minutes after he hit the big shot– hands shaking. At the time he said things like “I can’t **** believe that went in,” and had no idea what he was going to do with the money. I overheard him later telling reporters, hey that’s my graduate degree. Congrats Brendan!
