At Monday’s media luncheon Fran said he would need more from his bench. They showed more and then some tonight. Siena (3-1) routed Delaware (1-3) by 34 points tonight in Albany. Siena has now extended its Times Union Center winning streak to 23 games. In a night where Siena needed to come out and show that they were a far superior team, they did just that, displaying tenacious defense and never taking their pedal off the medal.
Siena came flying out of the gate and never lead by less than 10 after the first media timeout. As a team, they shot 48.5% from the floor. Ryan Rossiter put up 22 points, his season high, along with 7 rebounds on 6 of 11 shooting. Ronald Moore dished out 8 assists and the starters were out of the game early– accounting for only about 1/4 of tonight’s total minutes.
Kyle Downey still has yet to find his rhythm from beyond the arc, but put up 10 points and 4 assists coming off the bench. Owen Wignot added 16, and O.D. Anosike corralled 10 rebounds.
Jawan Carter scored 13 points for Delaware, and D.J. Boney added 12.
