Sports Illustrated’s Andy Glockner is a very busy guy previewing the Midwest Region among others. We took a quick few minutes and got his take on the Siena-Purdue matchup.
SienaSaintsBlog: What is the matchup you are going to want to keep your eyes on in this game? Coming off such a low performance this weekend, how can the Boilermakers improve on their performance without Robbie Hummel?
Andy Glockner: The answer to both of those questions is JuJuan Johnson. He’s probably the biggest mismatch Purdue can exploit against Siena. He hasn’t taken a ton of extra shots (until their last game, which is hard to judge with so much garbage time), but he may have to be the horse for them. They don’t have a ton of other options that will be unlike what Siena’s dealt with previously.
I don’t know that this is the walkover a lot of experts expect, because I think Siena will struggle to score on Purdue. I can see an ugly game with someone winning 60-55 or something. If I’m Siena, I’m trying to push tempo as much as possible and score in transition.
