Junior Forward Davis Martens will now be a redshirt Junior in the 2012-13 season, as he successfully underwent surgery for a torn labrum. The surgery was required due to the fact that Martens had a Femoral Acetabular Impingement, a common injury for young adults where the femoral head rubs abnormally or doesn’t have full range of motion in the acetabular socket.

Martens underwent the surgery on August 30th.

I’m going to do what I can to be there for the team, and support my teammates. It’s disappointing, but I’m going to hit my rehab hard and hopefully return better than before.
