It appears the Saints have suffered another setback facing the 2011-12 season with Rahkeem Brookins tweeting that he will be out for the season.

Brookins official twitter, @Sir_RaHk, tweeted  ”I’m out for the season!” earlier this morning.

Brookins injury was described in another tweet as two herniated discs in his back.

Siena, in a statement, said that orthopedic surgeons diagnosed Brookins with a bulging disk at L-3-L-4 and a herniated disc at L4-L5. He was diagnosed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Brookins will remain home for the semester to undergo physical therapy.

“It’s obviously disappointing news, but our focus is on Rahk returning to full health and enjoying a successful Siena career on and off the court,” Siena Head Coach Mitch Buonaguro said of the injury.

@Sir_RaHk’s tweets have since been redacted.

Brookins started 28 games in his freshman year last season and was the Saints returning leader in minutes entering the 2011-12 season.
