Siena fell behind early against the Stags and could not come back late at Webster Bank Arena on Sunday, falling 64-56 to Fairfield.
O.D. Anosike, who leads the nation in rebounding, grabbed a career-high 22 rebounds for the Saints.
Siena shot 6 for 21 (28.5%) from inside the arc and 3 for 12 (25%) from three in the first half, falling behind by 13 at the break. The Stags’ Rakim Sanders led the Stags with 17 points in the first half but they had a scare in the second half when Derek Needham was escorted off the court with an injury to his left leg. Sanders finished with 23 points while Needham returned minutes later and added 19 points for the Stags.
The Saints scored the final nine points of the game to cut the margin to 8. Siena is now 0-10 when they fail to score 60 points in a game and 0-6 on the road in the MAAC this season.
