Siena’s Senior Day at the Times Union Center could not have went better for the upperclassmen.

Siena scored a season-high 86 points in their 86-75 win over Canisius, and with help from Marist winning over Niagara, clinch the 6th seed in the MAAC Basketball Championships. The Saints registered their 11th straight Senior Day win in front of 7,939 at the Times Union Center.

Senior Connor Fenlon made Siena’s first field goal in his first career start, making his first career three point field goal. Fenlon also converted a layup in the final minute of the game to score a career-high 5 points. Meanwhile Senior Kyle Downey turned in a career best game. Downey scored a career-high 28 points on 8 of 18 shooting.

Junior O.D. Anosike collected 16 points and 16 rebounds to give him his 22nd double-double on the season. Siena used 13-2 run to take a 42-24 lead in the first half and held off the Golden Griffins charge late.

While the day was good for the upperclassmen, freshman Evan Hymes left with 4:18 left in the game with an apparent knee injury. Hymes appeared to run into the basket and was not able to put weight on his left leg when escorted off the floor by Siena’s medical staff.
