The newest edition of ESPN the Magazine ranks Siena 17th for the 2009-10 season. This is the second highest preseason ranking the Saints have recieved this offseason, second to the Basketball Times (15).

Siena’s AP Ranking Explained

The Saints, who were second among the “others receiving votes,” were ranked as high as No. 15. That vote came from Nick Jezierny, who covers Boise State for the Idaho Statesman. Also, Seth Davis of Sports Illustrated slotted Siena at No. 17.

The coaches poll is out. Siena recieved 72 votes for the Top 25, however fell just short rounding at at #28.

I think they’re low on a well coached, young Iona team, and Manhattan has a lot of players that can step in right away and have an impact.
